Being free isn’t just a physical thing. Yes we may have access to resources or experiences that allows us to pick up and go, but does that make us free? How are we able to enjoy the physical aspect of being free when we are mentally, emotionally & spiritually still at war. A war within ourselves. Let’s begin.
Mentally
- What are your thoughts about yourself? What words do you use to describe yourself? Most of the time, when something happens we say things like “how could I be so stupid?” or “what the heck is wrong with me?”. When things get rough we may say ” I can’t do this” or “why me?”. Remember that what you say, you create. What you speak always comes true. Speak words about yourself that you like, love and want. That is the only way that it will ever be true
- Stop comparing. Social media will have you out here messed up in the game. The game of life. Remember that you are NOT like anyone else when it comes to being who you are. If we were all the same then this would be one boring world where we all do the same things at the same times; no differences. If we keep comparing ourselves to others we will never know what it’s like to “be yourself”
- Stop believing everything that you think. You think that you will never accomplish one of your goals because of x, y and z? Well guess what, you won’t accomplish it then. Change that thought to “I will accomplish EVERY goal that I set for myself because I know that I have consistently put the necessary work in” – and see where that takes you instead
- Rest is not just a physical necessity. It’s a key element to overall mental health. Our minds get tired of the constant thoughts, ideas, self-talks and conversations that we have with others. So does our mind not deserve to rest? Whether it’s sitting in a quiet place, physically sleeping, sitting in nature, listening to hrtz or calm music, meditating or simply just being still, the mind must rest in order to fully function on the “being free” frequency
- Fear is your best friend. Have you gotten to know it personally? Of course you have because it’s been with you for such a long time. So why is it still stopping you from being everything that you want to be? Fear has lead you to the place that you are currently at. Do you still want to be there or is it time for a change? Tell best friend that you are no longer scared, but ready
Emotionally
- It’s not always about you. When someone does something or says something that we do not like we are allowed to observe what just happened. In that observation we have to remember that everyone else is also living their own life experiences. Is it possible that the persons actions were simply a reflection of their own life experiences and had absolutely nothing to do with you? Yes. Get over yourself and carry on
- Stop allowing experiences to take you out of your cool element. The cool element is the one that you’ve worked on to be able to know how to move in uncomfortable situations. The element that you’ve built from the ground up. The element that you and only you know about. Have you forgotten all the work that you put in to it? So why would you allow someone or something to mess with that? Use it for what it is; awareness & strength
- Deal with your emotions – they are real. At times we think that if we just put these emotions in to a bottle and seal it then its gone for good. Lies. Those emotions will always resurface. It’s necessarily healthy to ask ourselves why we are feeling a way and to understand it so that we know what to do when it shows itself again (because it will). When it does, we are no longer blind to the question of “why?” which illuminates the healing process. This repeated work will eventually allow the emotion to not exist – freedom
- That short temper is deeply rooted into something that happened to you in your younger years. It’s up to you to be the one that pulls that root up and makes the decision to plant peace. Most of our emotional trauma comes from experiences where we forget all the details but remember how it made us feel. Go over the experience & speak it out loud to yourself. Be there again. What would the you now say to the you then? The healing process has now begun
- Letting go is the best gift that you can give to your heart. Get that monkey off your back. Put those bags down. Clear your plane so that your flight takes you to levels that you never thought you would reach. Remember that this is for you & not for them. Your life is yours & so is your journey. Does the things that you are holding on to need to go with you or not? Release
Spiritually
- Prayer is your way of saying thank you & being open to receive more. Prayer is an action of gratitude. Prayer reminds us to keep our faith in something bigger than ourselves. It is a key element to living the life that we want to live because whatever we put out is what we receive back. That is why our prayers are so powerful
- Belief goes a long way. What you believe is a character statement for who you are. Therefore, it attracts whatever your heart desires. If we believe the negative then we will attract the negative. If we believe the positive and remain optimistic then we will attract all good things. Belief and being aware is two different things. Just because we are aware of the negative doesn’t mean that we have to believe in it. Remember that your beliefs are a choice
- Do your research. Where do your beliefs stem from? Do you know the history of your faith? What is the origin of the spiritual system that you follow? If you were to explain your beliefs to someone who had no idea what they were, can you do it with confidence? Most of us have followed the beliefs of those who have raised us from childbirth or those who are always present in our environments. Remember that you are responsible for all parts of you; including what you choose to accept as real & the truth. It’s ok to question things & seek answers. That is part of “awakening”
- Intuition is everything because it is simply you talking to you. That voice is your higher self or lower self letting you know that they are always with you and for you. Higher self & lower self is similar to the “angel and devil on the shoulders”. Our higher self (angel on the shoulder) reminds us of the direction that we want to go in to obtain all that we want, while our lower self (devil on the shoulder) keeps us aware of how far we’ve come on our journey & makes us question if we want to go backwards. If nobody else is for you winning then guess what? Your Intuition is – and your intuition is you. Keep winning playa
- Connections to the elements/nature/others. We were never meant to do things on our own. Working as a collective as oppose to against one another takes us further in to a world where peace is more obtainable. The elements (water, air, fire and earth) are in our everyday world which is why we cannot live without them. As we educate ourselves more on how we are completely all connected, it allows us to have a different attitude of gratitude for life and living. It could all be so simple
Freedom is the one thing that we all want to obtain in one way or another. It is a process that we take on when we begin to know ourselves and this world on a deeper level. The journey of course will have it’s ups and downs but that’s because there is a duality to everything. How we act in our awareness to the duality is what determines how free we are
